Mr. APER AKU
Late Aper Aku
Executive Governor, 1st October, 1979 – 1st December, 1983
Late Aper Aku was born in 1938 in Ikyobo, Ushongo Local Government Area. After his early education, he attended Government College, Keffi (1952 – 1957) and Nigeria College of Arts and Science (1958 – 1961).
He was at Fourah Bay University, Sierra Leone for his degree course (1961 – 1964) and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1965 – 1966) where he did a Post Graduate Course in Education.
He started his working career as a teacher in 1964 at William Bristow Secondary School, Gboko and in February, 1965, he joined the then Northern Regional Government and between 1965 and 1976 taught at Bauchi Provincial Secondary School and Government Secondary School, Gombe.
In 1968 he transferred his service to the Federal Government and worked with External Aid for Education and the Federal Ministry of Establishment. From 1970 – 1972, he was Principal, Federal Training Centre, Kaduna. From 1972 until 1976 he served in the Governing Council of the University of Ibadan.
He became a businessman on resigning from the civil service in 1972. Between 1977 – 1978 he was Chairman, Kwande Local Government Council and at the Inception of party politics, he joined the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) under whose platform he was elected Governor in 1978 and re-elected in 1983.
Late Aper Aku died in 1988 leaving behind two wives and four children.


Late Rev.Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu
Rev. Fr. MOSES ADASU
Executive Governor, 1992 –1993
Late Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu was born on June 12, 1945 at Mbaamena, near Awajir in Shangev-Tiev District of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.
In 1955, he enrolled at St. Pius Primary School, Mbazere, he completed his primary education at Christ the King’s Awajir in 1961.
And in 1966 – 1968, Governor Adasu studied at St. James Junior Seminary Keffi. He proceeded to St. Augustine’s Major Seminary, Jos (an affiliate of Propoganda Fide University, Roma – Italy) in 1969 and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Divinity (B.D, CUM Laude).
Late Governor Adasu’s quest for more knowledge took him to St. John’s University New York, USA from 1975-1976 where he obtained a degree of Masters of Arts (M.A). He again went over to Catholic University of America, Washington DC, USA between 1976-1978 and obtained yet another degree of Masters of Religious Education (MRE).
Late Fr. Adasu’s working career spans the religious and the secular spheres. He served as a Senior Inspector of Education at the Benue State Ministry of Education headquarters, Makurdi and also taught in various Secondary and Teachers Colleges in Jos, Otukpo and Adikpo.
He also taught at the College of Education Akwanga and Katsina-Ala respectively.
He served on the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Benue State Prerogative of Mercy, Advisory Council Episcopal Commission on African Tradition Religion and Board of Governors, College of Education, Katsina-Ala.
In the Church organization, he also held such responsible positions as Chairman, Presbyteral Council, Dean, Makurdi Deanery, Diocese of Makurdi and Vicar-General, Diocese of Makurdi.
He became the second Executive Governor of Benue State on January 2, 1992.
